In my opinion I think that one of the biggest problems still today is poverty. We need systems in place that assist those on unemployment to get back on their feet quicker. I think we need to put better policies in place that cut off aid to those who are habitually on welfare or unemployment and give them strict timeframes for finding a job. I also believe that we need to have a huge raise in the rate of minimum wage. As they say, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The cost of living continues to climb, yet the minimum wage still lags behind.

Equal education in America is not what we have. We need to address this issue so that our children all have the same quality in education and the same technology. Maybe if our children were educated equally they might be provided the same opportunities as they grow into adults...and maybe we could see a decline in poverty because of this.

Another large issue is child abuse. Again if we could address the issues of child abuse and save those who are being abused we might actually cut down on the amount of offenders -as juveniles or adults who commit crimes. There are alarming statistics that show the correlation of child abuse to committing crimes later in life.
